Bridge of Love focuses on community development in the Northern and Eastern provinces of Sri Lanka and in the tribal regions of Tamil Nadu, South India. For the past twenty four years, Bridge of Love has supported the broken and abandoned, the poor and vulnerable, widows, orphans, and the underprivileged. Educational initiatives and income generation programmes are a vital part of our longterm development work.
We donate stationery to underprivileged children as Christmas gifts every year—bringing both joy and educational support during the festive season. In the past, we supported around 1,000 children annually, but due to limited funds, this number has decreased. This year’s distribution, delayed because of flood‑relief efforts, is currently underway, and we expect to reach around 550 children. If anyone is still willing to support this initiative, please donate.
Most recently, we have provided flood relief to 400 impoverished Tamil families predominantly widowsin some of the worst affected areas, including Trincomalee, Batticaloa, Ampara, Mullaitivu, Nuwara Eliya, Hatton, and Polonnaruwa, following the devastating floods caused by Cyclone Ditwah. We are now preparing to extend further relief to additional affected communities.
